Founded in 1977, the National Association of Federal Agents is a non-profit, non-partisan legal service organization. Membership is open to the following groups: First, all current, retired, former, and future U.S. Treasury special agents, including those from IRS-CI, TIGTA, Treasury OIG and others, are eligible. Second, all current ,retired, former , and future special agents employed by an agency which at any time was subordinate to the U.S. treasury Department, are eligible (ATF, Secret Service, Customs, DEA and Coast Guard). In the future, others (FBI, INS, Postal, OIGs, etc.) may be admitted.

Message from the President: A word from the President of NAFA.

The Forum: Provides an opportunity for Federal investigators and the public to express opinions about Federal law enforcement operations.

Legal Beat: Provides a synopsis of recent legal actions and/or legislation which may have an impact on active duty and/or retired Federal criminal investigators. Cases cited are for informational purposes only. Always consult licensed legal counsel prior to initiating any action.

Federal Agents in the News: Provides a synopsis of recent significant and/or interesting cases involving U.S. law enforcement officers.

Probable Cause: A regularly-updated feature consisting of opinion pieces by NAFA officers and others.

RAG Award: An annual award given to a Federal supervisory investigator who consistently demonstrated integrity, compassion for employees and citizens, and a willingness to accomplish the Federal law enforcement mission. Includes a $500 stipend to a charity designated by the recipient.

Golden Whistle Award: An honorary award given quarterly upon submission of facts which substantiate waste, fraud or abuse within Federal law enforcement operations. All specific correspondent identifiers (name/address) will automatically be deleted to prevent government reprisal, unless otherwise specified by the correspondent.

Quote of the Quarter: A quotation from a public person, past or present, which has timely significance for Federal investigators.
