This quarter the Golden Whistle Award goes to Customs and Border Protection’s Assistant Commissioner for Air and Marine, Michael C. Kostelnik. As the top dog at CBP Air & Marine, A/C Kostelnik either knew or should have known that the agency he is in charge of wasted millions of taxpayer dollars buying crappy M-4s and destroyed perfectly functioning, already-paid-for Steyr AUGs that did not need replacing. This was a gross waste of taxpayer dollars, and additionally placed the lives of Air & Marine Agents in grave danger by taking away their fast, reliable and accurate AUGs and issuing them garbage.
